PointHuddle for Slack
Type /pointhuddle with your story titles and a planning poker room opens with those stories. The channel gets a join button, you get a private link to open the room as the host, and every accepted estimate comes back to the channel.
How to use it
- In any channel, type /pointhuddle Login page | Export CSV | Fix timer. Separate stories with | or new lines, up to 100. /pointhuddle on its own opens an empty room.
- Only you see an Open as host button. It works once, for 15 minutes, and makes you the host.
- The channel sees a Join room button. Teammates join with a name; nobody needs an account.
- When you accept an estimate, it is posted to the channel, with a summary when the last story is done. Voter names are never posted. The host can turn this off under Room settings → Notifications.
In a private channel, invite @PointHuddle first so it can post the results.
What the app can do in your workspace
- commands: the /pointhuddle command.
- chat:write: post estimates to the channel the room was started from.
It can’t read messages, see who is in your workspace or look up anyone’s profile or email address.
What we store
- Your workspace’s Slack id and name, the app’s bot id and the Slack id of the person who installed it.
- The bot token, encrypted. It is never shown, logged or shared.
- For each room started from Slack, the id of the channel to post to.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this straight away. Rooms themselves follow the usual retention: 7, 30 or 90 days after the last activity. Details in the privacy policy.
