About PointHuddle

Planning Poker (also called Scrum Poker) is a consensus-based technique agile software teams use to estimate the effort or relative size of user stories. PointHuddle is a free web application that lets distributed teams run planning poker sessions together in real time from any browser.

How a session works

  1. The facilitator creates a room, picks a card deck and shares the invite link with the team.
  2. The facilitator presents a user story from the backlog.
  3. Everyone privately chooses a card that represents their estimate in story points.
  4. All cards are revealed at the same time. The app shows the average, median and how the votes are spread.
  5. If estimates differ, the team discusses the story and votes again until they reach consensus.
  6. The agreed estimate is saved and the team moves on to the next story.

Card decks

Fibonacci (0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21…), modified Fibonacci (½, 20, 40, 100), T-shirt sizes (XS–XXL), powers of two, or a custom deck. A “?” card means “not sure” and a coffee card asks for a break.
